There is no other system which identifies problems of movement
in the same depth
as Performance Stability. All those involved in the sport, rehab,
exercise, fitness and the medical fields know the importance
of movement control in relation to performance, risk of injury
and pain.
The Performance Matrix system is so much more than simply ‘core
stability’ or strength training. By identifying performance
assets, you can fast track training. By identifying weak links
and risk factors, you can implement an individual retraining
programme. The Performance Matrix will enable you to take clients
through a series of stability tests to give you a complete profile
of their assets and weak links.

The
Performance Matrix specifically addresses what’s missing
Identifying
the problem:
We can help you be more specific in your assessment of movement
faults by using The Performance
Matrix - a user friendly comprehensive assessment tool.
The testing process is designed to identify movement faults
(weak links) in functional situations when many joints are working
together. We consider the importance of identifying low and
high load weak links which is more than just evaluating strength
and weakness.
Retraining
the faults:
We can give you a comprehensive principle based retraining strategy
for you to adapt to each client so you can be individual, specific
and efficient with a retraining programme. Underpinned
by solid research-based evidence, Performance Stability
aims to demystify and clarify the theoretical concepts underlying
movement and core stability issues, with - the Performance Matrix,
the Pilates Matrix and the Sports Matrix by:

The
History
The concepts underlying Performance Stability
have been developed as a result of interest expressed among
the sport, exercise and fitness industries, in the rehabilitation
methodology established by Kinetic Control (KC) . KC deliver
clinically-orientated courses, relating to movement dysfunction
assessment and functional stability retraining, and have been
running these courses for over 13 years. While
KC courses are intended for physiotherapists and clinicians
who deal with pain and pathology, Performance Stability aims
to convey the key principles within KC concepts to those involved
in the sport, exercise and fitness industries, the performing
arts and occupational health, by adapting KC course
materials to a relevant format which focuses on stability
assessment, risk analysis and performance enhancement with
The Performance Matrix The
Pilates Matrix and The Sport
Matrix.
Core Stability
- Fact or fiction
The concept of ‘core stability’ has been gaining
recognition and credibility in the sports, fitness and exercise
industries over recent years, with numerous courses, articles
and exercise programmes aiming at retraining core stability.
In essence, the concept of core stability should target low
load muscle activation and control as a priority, only gradually
introducing higher load exercises as improved low load stability
is achieved, however major confusion more often than not remains
regarding the critical differences between high, and low threshold
stability training.
